Pre-AP Physics and Honors Physics

This is an AP Physics and Honors Physics overview for High School Students. The course will cover the key components in AP Physics and Honors Physics:  Mechanics, including Newton’s 3 laws of motion, waves, optics, and electromagnetism, and Quantum Mechanics. Throughout the fundamental Physics course, students learn to apply the key concepts from the reading and lessons to the Physical world around them, and further develop interest and confidence in learning more about AP Physics or Honors Physics in high school.

The format and structure of the course is designed for students to gain experience as independent, self-motivated learners as they learn content from lessons and reinforce their understanding of the concepts through activities, quizzes, laboratories, and exams.

Instructor:  Dr. Frank Lu is an experienced teacher with PhD in Physics & Artificial Intelligence. He received degrees from Fudan University, UMD, and Duke University. Dr. Lu tutored and taught college students at UMBC (MD), and American University (DC). He also tutored and taught students from TJ, Oakton, Langley high school,  as well as other private schools. Many students received excellent scores in SAT Physics (700 – 800) and AP Physics (5).

Since 2014, some of Dr. Lu’s AP and SAT Physics students reported their admission to top schools, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Chicago, Duke, Georgetown, UPenn, NYU, UC Berkeley, and other great colleges. A big congratulation to our seniors!!
